Kadie has worked for Surrogate Steps since April 2023 and lives in Iowa with her husband, 3 children, and their 2 dogs and cat! She loves curling up with a good book and reading for hours with a cup of hot coffee! She also has a passion for travel!

Kadie started out in the surrogacy world 4 years ago. She has family friends that were intended parents and watching them go through the process of having their daughter was amazing to her. Kadie remembers seeing a picture of them with their GC while they were in the hospital and thought how beautiful it was and remembered thinking, “I could do that!” So she did… twice! Kadie carried for the same intended parents twice, once in 2020 (their daughter) and then again in 2022 (their son)

Before working for Surrogate Steps, Kadie worked as RDA in Pediatric Dental for 11 years. Kadie’s favorite part of working at surrogate steps is knowing it takes a whole team to help build a family, and she is one of the first steps in the journey and gets to follow along and watch from start to finish!

Q: Why Did You (Kadie) Become a Surrogate?

A: I have a close family that struggles with infertility and also have a family friend that had a severe health issue and needed surrogacy and was able to witness firsthand just how beautiful and important being a surrogate can be.

 

Q: In just a few sentences, describe what being a surrogate has meant in your life.

A: Being a surrogate has brought so much fulfillment to my life. I am still close with the intended parents I carried twice, and it is so amazing to get to see them as a family.

 

Q: What piece of advice (or top 3 pieces of advice) would you give to someone who is becoming a surrogate?

A: Stay organized (this will help with your medication schedule) , be a good communicator with your agency and intended parents, be mindful of your health!

 

Q: What piece of advice (or top 3 pieces of advice) would you give to someone who is growing their own family through surrogacy?

A: Never give up hope!
