What to Know About Being a Surrogate

    • Not Genetically Related

A gestational surrogate carries an embryo created from the intended parents’ or donors’ egg and sperm.

    • Compensation

Earn $45,000 to over $70,000 based on your experience and journey. Approved surrogacy-related medical, legal, travel, and other expenses are covered separately.

    • You Choose Your Match

You review intended-parent profiles and only move forward when the match feels right.

      What Makes a Good Surrogate?

      Surrogate Requirements

Surrogacy is a truly beautiful experience, but there is a lot at stake, so there are strict requirements to act as a gestational carrier with surrogate steps. Here are some of the key requirements to become a surrogate:

      • Age

You must be between the ages of 23 and 43. Maturity is key.

      • Prior Birth

You must have a minimum of one child who was born without pregnancy or delivery complications. Experienced surrogates receive an additional $ 5,000 in compensation for each previous successful surrogacy.

      • Good Health

You should be in good overall physical, mental, and reproductive health, with a BMI between 18 and 38. Final eligibility is determined through medical-record review and screening.

      • Healthy, Substance-Free Lifestyle

You must be free from tobacco, vaping, marijuana, and illegal drug use for at least six months, with no history of drug or alcohol abuse.

      • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

All gestational carriers must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and possess a current driver’s license or government-issued identification.

      • No Felony Record

You must not have any felony convictions and cannot live with anyone who does.
