Q & A with Ashley

Q: Why Did You (Amy) Become a Surrogate?

A: I became a surrogate because I knew how many people struggle to have children of their own, and it broke my heart to hear what they go through to have the child of their dreams. I had wonderful pregnancies and deliveries with my own children, loved being pregnant, and felt called to help another couple become a family.

Q: In just a few sentences, describe what being a surrogate has meant in your life?

A: Surrogacy is one of the biggest achievements of my life. Knowing I helped two families complete their families is one of the most rewarding feelings imaginable. My journeys taught me compassion and empathy, and I will always be grateful that I was able to help make someone else’s dream of parenthood come true.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to someone who is becoming a surrogate?

A: Be patient because surrogacy is a journey, not a sprint. While the process can be long, the reward is extraordinary, knowing you helped create a miracle by giving someone the priceless gift of family. Stay positive and keep an open mind throughout your journey. Matching also matters, so make sure you feel a strong connection with your intended parents.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to someone who is growing their own family through surrogacy?

A: Be patient because surrogacy is a long process, but it is worth it when you finally get to hold your baby. Make sure you have a strong connection with your surrogate because a good match can help make the journey smoother for everyone involved.
