Q: How would you describe your role at Surrogate Steps?

A: I help intended parents start their journey to parenthood. I answer all their questions and explain every step that we will take to help them grow their family.

Q: What do you love most about your job?

A: I love helping people grow their families. I help parents start their journey, so I also love to see how the same parents end their journey when I get those precious pictures of the parents holding their baby. It is incredibly rewarding to know that I’ve played a small role in something so big and life changing.

Q: What inspired your career in reproductive medicine?

A: I became a parent through IVF, and that journey changed my life. It gave me a personal connection to the world of fertility and family building. I understand the emotional ups and downs, and that empathy drives me to help others experience the same joy of parenthood that I did. Having now been an IVF Nurse and in the reproductive medicine field for over a decade, I can’t imagine doing anything else that would be more fulfilling and rewarding.

Q: What advice would you give to someone becoming a surrogate?

A: Do your research, understand both the physical and emotional aspects of the journey, and take the time to build a strong relationship with your intended parents. Communication and trust are everything.

Q: What advice would you give to intended parents?

A: Make sure that you have a good support system in place and that you express your goals clearly with the professionals guiding you in your surrogacy journey. Surrogacy is a partnership, and open communication helps make it an incredible experience for everyone.
